The Holland College teams participate in sports such as cricket, basketball, rugby, soccer, volleyball and hockey. The college was founded in 1964 as the Prince Edward Island Technical Institute. The name was changed to Holland College on February 3, 1971, in honor of former Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island, Sir Richard Clement Moody Holland.
